Drive through any city or town in Great Britain, or even up and down any highway and you will be surrounded by small hatchback or, as they are mentioned more frequently these days - citycar.
It seems as if the desire for smaller, more fuel-efficient cars has increased at the expense of the larger sporting models.
Take for example Toyota, a brand, the automobile clubs fantastic success with the likes of the MR2, the Celica Supra, and the sport had. These cars were all impressive and popularamong many motorists. However, if you now take a look at Toyota's model line up you will notice a big change.
That may be the small Toyota Aygo, the tiny IQ and Yaris all stand in stark contrast to their models of the old. The only thing we can say is that there appears to have been a shift in what consumers want - it must be a desire for smaller cars, otherwise we would still have the likes of super-race up and down the motorway will be.
All models in the ToyotaLine-up is on practicality rather than fun, which is based a shame.
As car manufacturers strive to economical cars on the needs of environmentally conscious, it seems as if vehicles are to produce ever smaller suit. It is no surprise that models like the Peugeot 107 and Citroen C1 have enjoyed such success as to what the consumers are demanding.
Who knows ... The course of technological development can be seen car manufacturers attractive, sporty cars bigger and produce againagain, I hope so!
